Our Trails became legal!

{ Isar Trails }

Finally in 2012 Bibertrails became legal. We are now part of a Bike Club who rented the area from the landowner. This year we started to extend the Trails really much and decided to involve more younger Riders in the Projekt. We added two new Lines, a Pumptrack, a Trick Step Up and kind of a Skatepark out of soil. By now the area is nearly three times bigger than last year. A lot of Stuff to maintain, by the way. Hopefully the weather is turning better for the rest of the summer. We need to ride a lot!

Petitions and Problems with the Council

{ Patcham Place }

Hey all,

Here at Patcham Place as some may already know, we have been having troubles with the local Council concerning the trails. We are currently in the process of getting the spot legalised, however, we need as many people as possible to sign this petition (which also serves as our Facebook infomation Page): http://www.facebook.com/patchamplace Although they have not given any clear indication as to how many people need to sign (Like) this petition, we reckon that if we can get at least 1000 people to they shall have no other option than to keep the spot as the majority of people have shown that they want to keep it.

Thanks very much and don’t forget to Like the petition!

Patcham Place

{ Patcham Place }

Patcham Place is a set of trails that have been around for a long time, however, it is only in the past year or so this place has really kicked off. They are based on the outskirts of Brighton & Hove in East Sussex. For the exact location as well as more info and photos feel free to take a look at our Facebook page (it also acts as a petition, so please Like it so we can keep these trails, thanks):

The jumps face being destroyed by the council as people have complained about people riding their bikes down the hills in the woods. We hope by creating this page people will understand that the group of riders at the dirt jumps are separate to the downhill riders. We want to tell people that they are two different styles of riding and that us at the dirt jumps are not involved with this form of Downhill riding. The people at the dirt jumps wish to preserve the natural environment in Coney Woods for families, dog walkers and it’s inhabitants.

The jumps are situated in a small corner at the bottom of Coney Woods. We have recently collected all the rubbish that has been distributed around the area left by careless individuals, resulting in a clean local environment. However, this sadly is an ongoing problem and we ask all people that wish to enjoy this natural environment to bring any rubbish that they make with them or use the bins provided, as the council cannot spare the costs of sending in hired litter-pickers due to the Government cuts, so will result in a small handful of the local riders to have to spend their free, unpaid time tidying up the litter of the selfish, waste-producing minority.

The jumps provide a safe local environment for people who wish to exercise, with friendly riders who are always more than happy to teach people how to ride the jumps or learn any new tricks. Many of the locals are educated on current bicycle components and are happy to help and fix peoples bikes if they are passing.

We hope that after reading this that people will realise that Patcham Place helps promote a healthy and positive lifestyle within Brighton.

Many thanks,

Patcham Place.

Well then, this is our first actual post for our trails on this site and will in the very near future post more information as well well as photos of them. However, sadly the Council are planning to demolish our jumps but here is a link to a petition to save them:   Thanks a lot to anyone who signs it!

Nike MTB Shoot

{ BuildTheWoods }

This has been up on Digmore for a few days but I’ve only just got round to posting anything on here.
Basically a couple of Digmore locals and myself were paid to shape up some jumps for a Nike MTB team photoshoot that happened just before the weather turned ugly.
We had to sit on the photos until it was published and since there’s an article in the Jan issue of Dirt, here are a few shots off my phone.

For more photos and a photoshoot video, check out the post on Digmore
